I went in being aware that Keri Lake writes dark novels, but this one managed to shock me at times regardless. Definitely check the trigger warnings as there are some heavy subjects here.
Overall I think the story was gripping, the characters were interesting, the spice was great, the pacing was okay, and the performance for the narrators was okay. I liked the female narrator better, I found myself zoning out at the male character’s chapters despite the interesting plot happening.
