I mean. I enjoyed it. was a good enough entry. but it felt like tons of foreshadowing and new story arc setup while kinds sorta finishing up the 9th floor arc. with only hints of where we are headed now.
and sadly Carl barely fought. falling behind in power. feeling like a glorified narrator and an above average fighter still. but others around him are really juicing up.
I hope it’s the usual, he ends up being far stronger than we realize next book because of unrevealed things that happened in this entry. which is a pretty typical writing method used in this series.
the hints are everywhere. but Carl suddenly feels so lacking in strength. I’m not a fan
