I turned this crap off with about an hour left of the book because I realized I absolutely did not care how it ended. I had it on as background noise and halfway paid attention because if I paid full attention I would’ve turned it off long before then.

Things I’ve noticed:
1. The writer gets obsessed with certain words. Almost like a kid learning their first cuss word and they run around saying it all the time. I would love to know the word count for the word “time”. Once you notice his constant repetition of words you can’t block it out.
2. Writer spends hours upon hours trying to sound like this deep , mindful philosopher and will keep droning on and on about how this connects to that or this is like this because this happened. Dude seriously, have you ever heard of the K.I.S.S. Keep. It. Simple. Stupid. method? You can say bad guy kills person “X” and now person “Y” is pissed. You don’t need to go into an hour long inner monologue about how it brings up old feelings and how his mother never bought him a chocolate when he was a wee boy.
3. Lots of hours of description and what you call world or system building doesn’t mean anything if there’s never a pay off. These characters are literally ice skating uphill. They power up , gain new insights, lose the fight. Wash rinse repeat.

This book was an absolute waste of a credit. Will not be continuing this series.
