Well the world building probably has good bone. I mean, there are off side references to them.
the main character remains an enigma to the end. The hard-boiled detective who’s secretly empathetic. but it’s not done well enough for us to find him a sympathetic MC. The female token sidekick is stupid enough to drag down the story all by herself. But fortunately she has the MC’s help.
I suppose if you are trapped in a hospital ICU with nothing else I might make this the 30th or so book recommendation.
