I simultaneously want Matt Dinniman to be successful, enjoy the fruits of his genius, for everyone to read the Dungeon Crawler Carl series so I can talk about it all the time, —and— I also want to keep it secret because there’s something so special about it.

I’m not an RPG lit genre fan generally. In fact I never heard of it before. I discovered this series by accident during the pandemic.

And it is a delight. In every respect. The vivid world building. The unbridled imagination. The living characters. Often touching. Always hilarious. And hidden within it all a rebellious subtext and commentary on power and the abuses of capitalism.

A secret I cannot keep. Enjoy.
