I couldn’t finish this one. I slogged through the ranting and raving, the narrator’s brash delivery that is somewhat akin to Robin Leach, but the needlessly drawn out conversation with a duck finally did me in. I think it was meant to be funny, but like most of this book, it came across stiff and forced. The story had become less than believable – why would this guy strike out on a journey without an emergency plan? His need to be sullen and angry was too grating on my nerves, and it wore me out.
