The main character, Battle, is under developed, I’m half-way through the book and I have zero emotional attachment to any of the characters. The love interest(?), an annoying single mother/Marry Sue, guilts and shames Battle into doing what she wants. The antagonists are also under developed. All of the biblical references come off preachy. I’m not even going to bother finishing the book, I just don’t care what happens.
