story had potential and started out very interesting but fell flat. i love smut. LOVE smut. but there needs to be a storyline to pull you in and keep you invested. this started out with storyline and then just became no story. just constant sex and manipulating.
Gerard is no better than her husband just different. her husband was verbally abusive and demeaning. Gerard is manipulative and controlling. The male narrator was decent. the female narrator was almost unbearable to listen to. she reads likes she crying and terrified the entire novel. there are times when that works with the story mood but not the entire book. he style is grating.
