While this follows the typical plot of a thriller and uses standard tropes, the author still gives us readers/listeners the twists of our life. Without spoiling it, the moment this novel takes its first big twist it just keeps twisting in masterful ways. Even when the twists are what I predict might happen, Iliana Xander finds a way to tweak the reveal and the info given ever so slightly, making brilliant use of the typical thriller tropes. Truly a book I couldn’t put down.
