An interesting premise but a slog to get through.

This book is strange to me. It’s like Avatar but in a World War 2 timeline. The initial chapters jump right into a story with very little explanation. By the time you start to understand things and get an idea of what’s happening a major curveball comes. The second half of the book is a true slog to get through and ultimately feels like it exists only to setup a nonexistent sequel. A lot of unnecessary exposition that leads nowhere. A lot of world building that has no need to exist.

I don’t understand the praise this book gets.
