This has been a long awaited sequel, and an even longer awaited audiobook. when I first started the series, there were 3 books so I wrongly assumed it was a completed trilogy. I then had to wait several years for this to finally come out, periodically checking to make sure the author hadn’t died (it was covid times). When I first read it as an ebook, I enjoyed it but it wasn’t what I was expecting it to be, so maybe that helped me on this re-read. I also think I followed the story better with the voices and such I had for the previous books. When I read it on ebook, it was harder to see the arc the story was on and it felt more like an unconnected series of events. This time it felt like it flowed together in my head more. Maybe its because I was no longer expecting big battles or political intrigue that I was able to see the political stuff that is there better, or maybe having the clear voices just helped. I enjoyed this reading experience more, and I’m so happy to finally have the story complete and in the same format. This has a lot of cute family moments with the children to enjoy 🙂
