Debated whether or not to buy this installment. The winnowing of the cast is antithetical to my usual taste in community building stories. And some cast gets wiped out but they’re trying their best which helps. And Princess Donut goes Full Dance/Pageant Mom on Mongo which is delightful. Glad I got it.
Worldbuilding: dystopian galactic Hunger Games dungeon crawl with magic meets Survivor type reality TV. With a talking Diva Cat who is smarter than Carl but more impulsive. Carl acts as group leader despite that being Princess Donut’s role. Don’t know yet if she allows this from inertia or of we just see Carl’s POV and he still thinks of her as a dependent. Which she kind of is but also isn’t. There’s lots of bloody gory death but also some folks behaving decently.
Narration: Absolutely wonderful. There’s actual music in some of it!! Even if that music is Wonderwall I enjoyed actually listening to story referenced music in my audiobook experience. The voice acting is excellent also. Great sound quality.
