It needed another run through by an editor. Multiple times, the author would say something was happening, a conversation would happen, and then the author would repeat what he said before. I think he missed that he had already said it. It seemed like it was written by a teenager, not much deep thinking going on. I’ve read a few LitRPG series before that were well done, but this one was too heavy on stats and not heavy enough on plot. I’d zone out multiple times. I like the idea of the story that was being hinted at, so I’m going to try book 2, but I keep pausing to read more interesting books in the middle. Not my favorite series, but I am trying to give the authors a chance.

For the narration, the female’s voices were great, but many times I couldn’t understand what was being said by the mimic. I had to reverse, raise the volume really high, and try again. I get the male narrator was trying to do a performance, but I couldn’t understand the words.
