All of the books in this series have had sections where it feels like there’s paragraph after paragraph of needless rambling about whatever Ben is thinking. Usually, the endless rambling consists of Ben’s justifications of the plans he’s considering for their next move, which is good to have, to an extent. But this author just goes way too far with it, to the point that it feels like intentional fluff. Like, in a “I need to get this essay to 3,000 words and I’m too lazy to add more actual content so I’ll just add a bunch of fluff” sense. This book, in particular, is full of this pointless fluff, and I honestly don’t know if I can finish it. It’s obvious that the author needed more content in order to stretch out this one leg of their journey, which should have just been a couple of chapters in a longer book, into a book in and of itself. Oh, and they still haven’t figured out that leashes exist.
