I found the opposing philosophical outlooks aboard the vessel so intriguing and the dynsmics of the relationships between the three people captivating. Ultimately I found all three sympathetic figures in spite of their foibles. Bob’s survival as the lone non-believer is tainted by the loss of his two shipmates and isnt necessarily a testament to a more pragmatic approach than just plain luck .
