This 3rd book in the series is a fast pace one! The action and suspense starts from the very first chapters and keeps going throughout the book. Jake is the cop turned bad cop from the mafia family in Maine trying to help the New York mafia all the while protecting his own secret family and not fall in love with Sawyer.
Because Sawyer witnesses a shooting, she now becomes part of the contract that is out in Jake’s life. Jake is determined to keep her safe even if that means kidnapping her SEVERAL times. Some of their banter during the kidnappings is hilarious.
Sawyer is in New York because she is running away from her life in Montana – where she found out her boyfriend/fiancée of 18years not only cheated on her for several years with her best friend but they are now expecting their first child – all within weeks of Sawyer walking down the aisle.
Sawyer’s mother & her sisters get involved in the mafia dealings and they provide so much needed levity at the right time.
Don’t sleep on this book – it is fun, fast paced, and a little spicy!
