The series started off strong with a very interesting story with great characters and good gore but by book 4 the writing took a significant nose dive seemingly written by a 13 year old. I seriously suspect the good reviews of this book are fake. The romance and s*x scene felt shoe horned, flat, and unnecessary, same with all the flirting. None of the new characters seem well developed, all seem overly cartoonish with one literally flying around the room like a balloon due to an exaggerated burp ending with Chester eating their vomit. The battles are boring and hard to pay attention to. Chester became significantly more annoying, less helpful, less intelligent, and just plain silly and disgusting just to be gross. All characters from past books lost most of their personality and charm. The random pop culture references felt forced and just added to the overall silliness of the book. I really loved this series so I’m incredibly disappointed in this book. I hope this is the last one.
