What a pleasant surprise! I have never read a book that is even remotely similar, and for that I love it. Original, fun, gory and downright hilarious. Some of it is so stupid you can’t help but say “dad joke” but it’s amazing because DCC embraces the fun factor and runs headfirst into the wall with you.
I am a fan now and I see the appeal. DCC is not trying to be your typical high fantasy series. Dinniman wants the reader to go on an unforgettable journey and I guarantee he fulfills that promise.
