Great plot and memorable characters. the main cast is well written and act like actual humans instead of quirky tropes which is refreshing. the only criticism I have towards the character writing is the odd and and sometimes forced romance dialog. no one is going to be thinking “do i like her/him or do I LIKE like her/him?” when in eminent mortal peril. also, the 2 clearly better romance options are tossed aside for the cliche one. granted there are more books in the series so maybe this will change – we’ll see. The fact that my biggest complaint is just some silly romance stuff speaks volumes for the rest of the story. give it a listen – you won’t regret it!
