I’ve read over 200 mm books this year and this one was absolutely a 5 star read!
Cronin was such a refreshing take on a vampire. In most vampire stories they are these suave, sexually experienced, pompous, know it alls. Cronin is sweet, gentle, old fashioned, and thoughtful. He’s waited his whole existence for his other half and it’s just so endearing.
The world building was well done. I never felt lost or like something was missing. The side characters are well rounded and the found family vibes are wonderful.
I don’t typically like Joel Lesley as a narrator but other than his “Japanese” accent I think he did an amazing job with this book. I’m so glad I gave these a shot and I can’t wait to listen to the rest!
