My only complaint is that the normally amazing Joel isn’t great with German accents and occasionally messed up pronunciations. As someone who’s second language is German it’s annoying and sad that I can detect the issues. I can only imagine it would be worse for someone who’s more fluent than I am. If you have no real familiarity with German, or how Germans speak English, you should have no issues whatsoever. It pulled me out somewhat regularly but I can’t give it less than 5 stars just because of the amount of story building by the author. I love Joel’s ability to give everyone their own voice too much to give him less than 4 starts even though he may not have been the best option for this story.
