dungeon crawler world is a phenomenal metaphor for so many things, and many of the characters are quite endearing, but very sadly the writing does exactly what the story exquisitely explains is a terrible idea: dehumanizing torture for the sake of cheap cynical nihilism is both ineffective and wrong. this book series both compellingly makes that argument and then does exactly what it explained is a terrible idea.
