as a fellow actor I can’t believe I am complaining about an actor’s performance on an audiobook, but there was a lot of emotion in her voice that did not need to be there half the time. not just emotion but excitement and or anxiety was placed in her voice the entire time. might just be the direction, might just be how the author wanted it, I am not sure. no hate voice actress. I just couldn’t take it seriously sometimes. the story is very good, and it made me want to keep listening and push through it, someday I might pick up the second book, but I’m going to need a break from the performance in order to do that unfortunately.
