I commend the writer for being dedicated to the story and their ability to describe in detail topics they know.
The story though is more than a stretch, with fairly obvious anti-government paranoia and starring an idealized version of what is likely the author’s mental avatar.
Every government institution in the US is a utterly inept, but even after the two failed tiny countries managed to destroy the entire US and the majority of humanity immediately devolved into theives, murderers, and scoundrels, a lone good ol’ boy with his trusty dog side-kick, his rifle, and his growing boy have just what it takes to overcome all obstacles.
There are just so many unbelievably unrealistic distrustful details in this story, i can’t imagine anyone enjoying this who doesn’t also fear leaving their cabin in the woods.
I’m all 20+ hours of this disaster porn, there’s not even a single police officer anywhere. Just a guy who describes his guns in such detail that it seems like it sexually aroused him. What a weird read.
