This book started out very slowly. I didn’t know that it was a complication of letters written and I read it on the advice of a Instabook influencer. I almost returned it, but kept up because the reviews were so good.

I’m glad I did. What a heart felt and honest story. It made me laugh out loud and weep inside.

SPOILER ALERT
This is the third book I’ve read this year about the death of a child because of their parents’…. What’s the word, not negligence. But instead, busyness. This parent, like the other two, was too busy doing whatever was keeping her busy to play with her child and that absence resulted in events that led to his deathl. How very sad.

I didn’t cry, but I can empathize with how others might. The narration was fantastic. It took a while to catch on to whom each character was, but once I did, I was able to follow their stories.
