Basket Case is the debut cozy mystery in Nancy Haddock’s Silver Six Crafting Mystery series and it is wonderful. Leslee Stanton “Njxy” Nix gets a call from Detective Eric Shoar that her Aunt Sherry Mae and her housemates, the Silver Six, are creating havoc and she needs to come to Lilyvale, Arkansas to handle it. When she arrives, the Silver Six are hosting a folk arts festival and a land developer, Jill Elsman is threatening Sherry Mae to get her to sell her land. Later, Jill Elsman ends up dead and Sherry Mae is a suspect. Nixy and the Silver Six work together to clear Sherry Mae’s name. Nixy and Detective Shoar have some chemistry and she realizes she likes Llilyvale and the people. This is a very enjoyable cozy mystery. I had the audiobook which is narrated by Kitty Hendrix. The narrator does a good job but Nixy is 29 and the voice sounds like she is in her 50’s at !east. Other than that, it is enjoyable. #BasketCase #SilverSixCraftingMystery #BerkleyPublishing
