Let me first say I loved the first two books. And the voice casting was spot on performance wise. The book itself however…what happened? Story felt rushed and uninspired and is going in a direction that just makes me roll my eyes. The MC is so bland and “proper” it hurts. His development is non existent, is about as predictable as it gets, contributes absolutely nothing to the story, and the ONLY reason hes even remotely interesting is because of Chester.
The writing is mostly alright but the author uses the word “countless” innumerable times. (see what I did there, different word same meaning.) Its so bad you could make a drinking game out of it. Admittedly this is a minor complaint but once you notice it you cant stop noticing it. Just saying there’s better ways to describe a lot of something than that word, especially if you CAN count it.
