My opinion changed so much from the beginning to the end of the book. Sybil began as a person I disliked and pitied and morphed into a woman I understood and began to appreciate. I grew to admire her limited character with all her faults.

I cannot imagine saying that I enjoyed it. I cannot wrap my head around many of the writers of the letters she receives. Why would anyone participate in such a limited relationship with their apparent friends? Where is she when needed? Her communications are a week behind, old and stale and frankly an afterthought.

Virginia Evans managed, as an author to create a character so realistic that I wonder if she is based on an actual person. I will remember this book for a long time.
