The telling of the story through letters did not feel like a gimmick. In fact, it was absolutely perfect for this book. The characters are fully drawn and beautifully narrated. I laughed and wept multiple times. I am a middle aged woman, but felt I could relate to the 70-something Sibyl. She also infuriated me at times, but then always always always I came back to loving her. I never would have chosen this book for myself, but read it for book club, and I’m so very glad I did.
