There are far too many chapters given to backstory and split POV. I have zero interest in what feels like half the book being tangents from the central plot of Crystal Genocide–I wanted more of the main character and her plot and less of all that other junk with Alice, Marsha, and others. It was jarring to constantly be taken to other characters via intermittent prologues every other chapter an made me lose interest. I won’t be continuing.
