The cat’s character fully develops into a believable example of someone with NPD, and how some of them abuse their friends and family. The emotional manipulation, histrionics, blame shifting, and occasional physical violence are very spot on. Unfortunately, the abuse is often played for comedy. For survivors of abuse from true Narcissists this may be very triggering. I needed to take breaks and settled on a strategy of skipping most of the cat’s dialog.
The book is saved by the development of Carl’s character and much of the supporting cast. I am only listening now, hoping that either the cat changes or dies
