I’d first like to say that i love this series and fully intend on getting the next however there are a few issues with this particular book. first off the author has in many subtle ways peppered their story in past books with little references here or there that were ether nostalgic or just fun. a video game reference here a move reference there. as a writer myself i get inspiration from others work all the time so no complaints however…. in this book there is a scene that was down right plagiarized from the movie star ship troopers and several cringe worthy quotes from star wars. having a scene inspired by someone else’s work is all well and good but we were talking word for word here. further more there was a section were the author simple skipped three months of story. it was so abrupt i thought i had accidentally pressed skip! I understand this might have been done to keep time down but it wasn’t a cut, it was a hatch job at best and lazy regardless of intention. i really hope this is not the beginning of the end for this series as i understand the latest book is really dragging on release date and a drop in quality as well as author interest would explain that.
