I didn’t like it at first, perhaps the first 20 minutes, I was thinking about refunding my purchase, laugh out loud. It soon after captured my attention.
What an incredible life lived through letters. This book has inspired me to write more letters. My mother was known for handwriting many letters. After her passing, many people told me that they treasured and will continue to treasure the letters they received from her during her life. Writing your thoughts, feelings, activities, hopes, dreams and of course, what book you’re reading at present is a wonderful way to communicate with yourself through journaling, but also with a penpal who knows and loves you and enjoys seeing that letter in their mailbox! To then sit down to read it with a cup of tea, and find time to write back, what a wonderful concept! Thank you, Virginia. Erika
PS. I won’t spoil anything for future listeners or readers, but I must say, when the one character said “I love you” at the end of his letter I burst into tears.
