I had seen this book recommended a lot, so I decided to try it. It was not what I expected from the double entendre title (which was clearly intended). It is about a Mimic — a classic monster from D&D that looks like a treasure chest but is actually a monster that tries to eat adventurers. The Mimic advances in levels and becomes much more powerful. Eventually, there are a few bouncy female characters who embody the title, but that isn’t until later in the book.
I must, in all fairness, mention that I prefer stories where I like the main character. I’m usually not a fan of stories where the protagonist is a bad guy. Maybe that changes in the later books, but I didn’t get that far.
I got this as a Audiobook, and Jeff Hayes of Sound Booth Theater is a great reader. Obviously it focuses a lot on humor. I found the story fairly entertaining, but not enough to spend more Audible credits on the sequels. The humor was OK, but once I got past the gimmick of the main character being a Mimic, I decided I did not want to spend money on the subsequent books. If it was free or really cheap, I would probably go on with the series.
