Stilted

The main character is not terribly likable. Since the whole book is her letters, her stilted language became a bit wearing.

I found it unbelievable that people in business positions to whom she was a perfect stranger would respond to her long letters filled with personal information.

I stuck with the story, but never really felt invested in it.
