POV character is written and acted as if they’re completely depressed by anything and everything. Just the teenage sighs are missing. Granted, it’s a terrible reality the author created, but that doesn’t magically make listening to a character who’s just given up somehow engaging. Made me give up two thirds through, just awful compared to all other books. The first books delighted me, then later ones merely entertained, this one turned me away from the series for good.
