- Where does Every Mother’s Nightmare rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
- I’ve been lucky enough not to have listened to too many “duds”. However, I would put this in the top 25%. So given how many great books I’ve listened to in this genre, that’s a compliment.
- What other book might you compare Every Mother’s Nightmare to and why?
- “Misbegotten Son” by Jack Olsen. While the Shawcross story is more about a serial killer, psychopath as opposed to this story, the agony of mothers that lost children is a huge part of that narrative. And of course, Kevin Pierce is brilliant in his narration.
- What does Kevin Pierce bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
- Kevin always brings a sense of character differentiation through voice inflections that I might not do while reading it in my head.
- Any additional comments?
- Just that this was the quintessential Bosworth-Pierce partnership that makes for a great audiobook. The story had a great flow to it. There’s enough detail to keep you interested – but not so much you get bogged down in the details and begin to lose sight of what the story is really all about.
