This was a decent second book.
I like how Nathan is extremely levelheaded. He has a very sharp mind & an even temperament. He is advancing not only himself but also the “Heirs”, his other new friends & his new community as a whole. He doesn’t haphazardly introduce concepts from Earth that could wind up being detrimental to his new world if the technology or knowledge were to fall into the wrong hands. He’s also making some fairly heavy hitting enemies with the choices he continues to make, but he is determined to remain on a path without regret. He knows every action has a reaction and there are consequences that come with the distribution of power.
I find it funny how he always ends up naked. Here’s hoping he finds a permanent solution to that conundrum.
I really did not like the recap of attained skills and talents at the end of pretty much every single chapter. It was completely unnecessary. Honestly, it felt as though it was only added to increase the total word count of the book to please the publisher. Even more so when we’d get an in depth recap less than 30 seconds after we were initially informed of a personal advancement. I have to knock a star off for that alone.
I did enjoy the Afterward recap though. I have a sneaking suspicion that it will be recapped again at the start of book #3.
