You’re reading this review of book 3 of the series because you want to know if it continues with a bang or a whimper. I can state without reservation that this third chapter is chock full of action, twists, reveals, and seat-of-their-pants escapes that would make even MacGyver proud. As the already small and dwindling group of survivors from Earth’s ravaging learn more about their captors and the reasons behind their invasion, the story takes several turns that pack action and emotions into tight highly-combustible bundles, then set them aflame. There’s hardly a dull moment spent away from dodging ravenous creatures, cattle-prod armed drones, and power-hungry humans. As always, the characters are central to the experience and we become bonded to each of them, uniquely. Stacy Carolan provides exceptional narration and voice to each one, deepening our connection to the humanistic side of the story. A wonderful tale of adventure and determination awaits.
