Beautiful stories with gorgeous prose describing both deeply sad emotions and wet, welcoming gore. Amanda Lyons is a new favorite.
I found the audiobook layout confusing, and wasn’t sure when one story began and another started. Part of that was chapter titling and part was a narration that stayed at a constant dynamic throughout. I like the narrator very much – his steady, warm voice would be an asset to many horror tales. I think I might have liked a little more dynamic, poetic read for this work, though. I would have liked a little more theater or poetry-reading energy. Still, I would ask out work by him again, and the overall production was outstanding.
