There’s a point in the book where the supporting prepper character is being robbed. He has plenty of notice of this. He waits outside the barn… as the robbers take his food. The son tells the other kid before this he has a bunch of guns. And yet he takes a revolver and timidly tells the guy to stop or he’ll shoot, then shoots at him once. Getting him in the shoulder, while the other three escape easily with a bunch of food and supplies. It was completely ridiculous. Definitely made me not like the book as much.
