Updated Review – 4.5 STARS – Rule Breaker was my very first Lily Morton read, and I will always be grateful because it opened the door to one of my favorite authors ever. Nobody writes snark and fiery chaos like she does.
Gabe and Dylan are absolute mayhem in human form. Their dynamic feels like watching a car crash in slow motion while laughing, wincing, and grinning like a fool. The petty insults, the bickering, the tension that snaps every time they breathe near each other… elite behavior.
This book is hilarious, sharp, messy in the best way, and still manages to kick you right in the feelings. Their banter could power a whole city. The chemistry? Please. I was giggling and kicking my feet. And when Gabe’s walls start cracking inch by inch? Inject it directly into my bloodstream.
The Christmas visit to Dylan’s family? Everything. The slow shift from antagonists to something real? Perfection. The epilogue? I melted.
Book 2 and Book 3 are an absolute must read if you pick this up. And Jude’s book (Book 2) is actually one of my favorite books ever. I still think about him
