Can’t lie ‘ghetto black man’ and ‘cant speak to another man about appreciating him’ almost made me dnf. My main enjoyment of the book was watching our protag suffer since all of his problems (getting stuck in the game, getting betrayed, keeping moral up) are his own fault by not caring about the ppl around him and viewing them as means to an end. Even after learning that all the VIs are basically slaves he doesn’t grow or devolp besides in how no one should hurt HIS clan. Love the narrator tho and finding out what the big plan for the VIs will keep me invested
