This series just keeps leveling up, and Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook might be my favorite installment so far. What started as a ridiculous, hilarious premise has evolved into something genuinely smart, sharp, and emotionally engaging — without ever losing its chaos.
Carl and Donut are at their absolute best here. The stakes feel higher, the dungeon is more brutal, and the strategy is next-level. The “cookbook” itself is a genius narrative device: part satire, part rebellion manual, and part unhinged commentary on systems designed to grind people down. It adds so much depth to the worldbuilding and reinforces that this story isn’t just about surviving — it’s about resisting.
The humor still hits perfectly (I laughed out loud more times than I can count), but what really surprised me was how invested I’ve become in the characters. Beneath all the absurdity and gore, there’s real heart, loyalty, and anger at injustice simmering just under the surface.
Fast-paced, wildly creative, and way smarter than it has any right to be, Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook cements Dungeon Crawler Carl as one of the most addictive and entertaining series I’ve read. If you think this is just a silly LitRPG, you’re seriously underestimating it.
Bring on the next floor. 🐾🔥
