I had a ton of fun with this one. Normally I dislike war arcs, but the development of the ant society and culture mixed in made this very fun. Great job!

I thought the reverb on some of the telepathic dislog was a little too much at times, though the effort to subtly alter the audio quality to make it instinctively clear how people were cominicating has been a nice touch through this series. I just think it needs to be a little more subtle. Overall, the two narrators work very well together. Changing narrators usually takes me out of the immersion, but not in this series.

Some of the moral struggles of loyalty, honor and justice from clashing world views and backgrounds makes for great character dynamics and hard choices. Great story telling.

This book had way less of what I call filler tedium that plagued the early books. This foceses more on plot and character and setting, rather than stat numbers and “grind fights” that just became noise. Making for a much better reading experience.
