Author seems to be borrowing a bit from the Thursday Murder Club. The elderly characters are the most enjoyable portion of the book. Some poetic license is allowable but the ridiculous paralysis of the characters who feel helpless because of the cluelessness of a local police department makes the plot totally unbelievably. I wanted to yell, “call state or federal law enforcement. This isn’t 1850 frontier ! “
