Story overall is good, narration is great. They really knock it out of the park. But the MC seems to be losing braincells with every chapter. I don’t understand how they seem to get more stupid as the book progresses. Bad decision, poor use of skills, and more on and on. It’s REALLY frustrating. He also has more than enough reason to listen to and trust Roq. Yet at every opportunity argues with him, pushes back, second guesses him and actively seems to want to hold the both of them back. He’s the golden boy of the friend group, with no other redeeming qualities and tries to appear like he isn’t selfish and yet is. Really detracts from the story.
