This book was very obviously inspired in no small way by the classic Frankenstein. But Frankenstein as seen through the eyes of the creator of Tarzan, Pellucidar, Barsoom and so much more. Quite entertaining in its own way, it does slightly suffer for that derivative “feel”. Also working against it is the painfully stereotypical character of Sing. (It really was a different time when this was written). If you can get past that, the book is very enjoyable.
