If you like Didion, you’ll love this. Much better writing displayed flawlessly. Her token black profesor, token gays, neurodivergent character, and child of holocaust characters checked all the ESG / DEI goals. She’ll be invited to all the best parties with those boxes checked.
I would love to see this without the offensive propaganda. I will try her other books. The writing is clear, clean, careful. And unlike many books these days, this was well edited and carefully crafted. Even with the political nonsense, I enjoyed it deeply because of the quality writing.
