Hunger Games meets Running Man meets Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy meets Ready Player One. Honestly what more do you need to know. Carl and his ex’s cat, Princess Donut, (who can now speak) are thrust in to a bizarre video game style battle to survive. The evil intergalactic corporation will do anything to make money off their pain. The game running AI is devious, a little creepy and almost definitely has a foot fetish. Hilarity ensues.
This book is absolutely a book that should be listened to. Jeff Hays is a one man cast of thousands. It is the first time I have heard his voice acting and he is beyond brilliant.
Double dog dare you to listen to this book and not find yourself muttering “G-d dammit, Donut” when things go amiss.
I cannot wait to continue with this series.
